I started working on the bindings of the mug rugs. These 3 have a turquoise batik binding.
I was able to use the same color thread on these 2 that have an aqua batik binding.
This was the main project to work on yesterday. I have made the Christmas stockings for everyone in the family and the newest member needed one this year. I just used a cute Christmas print instead of piecing or embroidering this time. The back is the same red with gold dots that is on the cuff. His mom has an all cross stitch stocking and I don't have a digital photo of it. His dad's is the one I made for my tutorial for making a Christmas stocking. His brother's has a machine embroidered Santa on denim.
Here is a another little bit of Christmas decorating that I did. I love pulling out the log cabin table runner made with Christmas prints. The poinsettia is a little $2.29 plant and is perfect for this spot.
My champagne colored cactus is taking its time blooming and this red one beat it. They both started buds at the same time. This one is an orange/red compared to the true red of my older plants.
Love the quilting lines on the smaller mug rug. Every year I say I am going to make stockings and then don't get to it. Maybe I should make them in January! I even have recycled jeans cut out for some.
ReplyDeleteWeston is getting a really cute Christmas stocking. Your decorations are looking good.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you used for the stocking. It is perfect. I also like the Santa one for his brother. Is that on denim? Wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteThe log runner looks so pretty with the poinsettia on it. Nice mug rug finishes too. It was a good sew day!
Great Christmas-y post!! Love the curvy mug rug, and the colors of them all.
