I finished separating the stacks of squares into kits and stacked all of the quilts in order for the workshop tomorrow. I packed all of the other supplies too.
I mowed the grass yesterday afternoon. There was a nice breeze and it wasn't too hot but it was humid. While I was out there I was admiring the plants on my porch steps. I'm wondering if all of the pots of begonias will be good houseplants for the winter.
They are so pretty and they are blooming continuously.
Your front porch is eye candy. I used to plant begonias but stopped. Recently I have noticed that businesses near us plant them in huge clusters, so pretty. I think next year I will get some too.
The only problem with bringing them in is that the outdoors insects may have laid eggs--the warmth of the house can bring on hatching. I had clouds of gnats one time because of it.
Beautiful flowers. Begonias make nice houseplants. Check with your local garden center about what to spray them with before bringing them inside. You can use soapy water on some plant, but some need a different spray.
My grandma always brought her begonias in for the winter! They can be messy when the flowers drop, but otherwise, she didn't have any trouble with them.
Begonias are good indoor plants. Coleus are fine, too. Give them a weak soapy water bath before bringing them. Will kill bug eggs and small bugs that might be on them.
I love begonias also! I bring mine in every year, then back out in the spring. I have several that are 4-5 years old. The Angel Wing begonias are my favorite-I love the way the flowers droop. Good luck with yours.

ReplyDeleteThose begonias are the greatest color plants. They are constantly blooming. I think they would be fine inside.
