A little sewing, a little designing.......

I started sewing the colorburst piece.  There are 15 rows so I am one third of the way done.

I added some more pieces to the second colorburst that I am designing.  At this point anything could be changed because I have no idea what the rest of it is going to look like.

My raised bed with the tomato plants is right next to my studio window.  A cardinal landed on one of the cages right by the sunflower.  First he laid his head in one direction for awhile and then turned it the other way like he was suntanning and trying to get his tan even.  Then he straightened up and I got this shot through the screen.  My green tomatoes are on the left.  I have had 3 Early Girl tomatoes ripen so far as well as a handful of grape tomatoes.  The rest however are taking their time ripening.

  1. Your cardinal photo looks like inspiration for your colorburst pieces! I was up at 3:50 am and saw the security light was on in the back. I looked out and there was a fawn having a snack.

  2. When we first walked through the yard of the house we eventually bought, a team of four male Cardinals flew and swooped back and forth. For over 7 years, they and their families have given us so much joy. We have about 12-13 male cardinals and they are all different in age.

  3. Being new to building blocks, I'm interested in your process. Cardinals are my favorite birds at my feeders. They alert me when cats are near so I can chase them off.

  5. I gave up trying to catch great pictures through my screen- they always turn out to be just screen. I am so impressed with your camera - or your expertise! And great pic of the cardinal - I've never seen one except in a book.

  6. Beautiful birds - I have seen a couple on a trip to Canada many moons ago - quite breathtaking as we don't have them in the UK! Thank you for sharing all the photos indoors and out.
