Clean up time......

It's clean up time in the basement because the art quilters are coming Monday.  As I came across many piles of scraps I had to take a detour to the sewing machine and have some "relax and play" time.  I love doing crazy piecing.
The above photo is before trimming and this is after trimming.  This isn't a project, just playtime at this point.

I noticed my tiger lilies are starting to bloom.  They look so pretty against the periwinkle of the balloon flowers.

This is my view from the dining room window to my jungle flower bed.  I have one more area with some tall weeds to take care of.  I made a lot of headway on it earlier this week.  If you click and enlarge the photo you can see all of the coneflowers blooming.

  3. I love the lilies, my tiger lilies started to die off already last week and now I need to remember to let the plants die back and then get those bulbs moved this fall.

  7. You must have the just right weather. All our plants in SC are really stressed out. Nothing like a good rain. 100+ degrees next week. Enjoy your pictures

  8. Your strippy "roses" have given me a shot of inspiration. (I must get cracking on our guild challenge quilt, due in September.) I was so happy to hear my husband say, "I like the exuberance of the flower garden." (Overgrown perennials and too many weeds.)

  9. I really like those little blocks of crazy piecing, but wonder how you do it. Your flowers are really pretty in the garden, the purple coneflowers seem to be like mine, trying to take over the garden.

  11. Love your blocks Wanda. I have small collection of tiny scrappy blocks like this - 4" square if memory serves me correctly - and I just love making them (and using up all those tiny bits!).

  12. Hey Wanda, Hope all is going well. Just loving getting back to your blog!! I love the four patch quilt you did. I'm wondering if you could do it all scrappy or if you should use the same fabrics in each of the four patches? Have a great day and have fun!! Patty Cramer I don't have a google account so had to do this anonymous. UGH

  18. Oh yes there are poodles of nice plants in that jungle. Shame you can't see things very well, but once you have it all weeded and tidied up it will look fantastic! Nice summer project for sure.
