A test block.......

I made a test block yesterday to make sure all of the dies I had chosen were the right ones.  The last time I made this block I used 1980s calicoes so it has been a long time.  I have always liked this block and it would be a good one to fussy cut centers for.

  1. Are those all batiks? Very striking! And soooo much different than calicoes. A very grown up block!

  2. Wanda, lovely selection of shades, subtle, but so good together. Cheers, Jean. p.s. are you getting the latest snow storm, or has it gone past you further East??

  3. This is definitely a change from the calicoes. At first I said "ooh that is hard" then I realized there is nothing there that I can't do.

  4. As someone who never had fondness for calicoes, this block of yours is gorgeous in batik. I may have to rethink how I look at traditional blocks. I guess the cutter really helps in making these complicated blocks.

  10. Like the block very much indeed, love your fabrics and especially the luscious one in the centre and half square triangles - I'm guessing batik?

  14. That is lovely. Did it go together easily since it was die cut?
