Strip sashing.......

There are 2 different combinations of fabrics in the strip sashings in this photo.  I think any combination will work after seeing this.  I have a lot of short strips to make some from as well as long strips that I'll sew into a strata and slice into 3.5" sections.  I know I'm not going to make this as big as the one in the book.  I have too many quilts I want to try to make another big quilt right now.
I vacuumed the basement and made one batch of cookies yesterday in preparation of the art quilters' visit on Monday.  I'll bake the other batch of cookies today and finish cleaning my stuff off the tables in the basement.  I also finished the quilting on the gray/floral zig zag but didn't get the binding cut yet.  I hope I find time to do that today too.

  4. Interesting concept....to vacumn the basement.... I have had no basement in my adult life...Texas builds on slabs.... but from my childhood the basement was always neat but never vacumned.... swept and swept and swept but the vacumn was NEVER in the basement.....

Have a great Monday....you sure are getting ready for it....

  11. I really like what you are doing with this piece... It is what I call exciting.

Hey I vacuum my basement every week... well maybe every other week for sure. (*._,*)

That is where my office, laundry, guest bedroom, full bathroom and my workroom is. A complete floor, with walk out to the patio.

  17. I am 100% with you on not making a quilt the same size as the one in the book!

I'm almost done with a pillow based on a Kaffe pattern, and that is plenty, plenty, plenty!
