Cleaning the garage.......

Here are some of the new Hoffman batiks.  There are some really nice new patterns.

I'm always looking for some new colors that I don't have in my collection too.
If you want to see the whole spring line, go to Batiks Plus blog.  I thought the colors were more true on their website though.

Yesterday I spent a large portion of the day cleaning my garage.  I am going to be storing a box spring and mattress for my granddaughter so I figured it was a good time to clear out a lot of stuff that accumulated over the winter.  It looks so nice that it makes me wonder why I don't keep it clean all the time.

  1. I hear you. The garage and basements are catch alls. The fabric is beautiful. The contrast in the the blacks is really nice. Have fun with them. Chris

  2. we're still storing some of my children's stuff, so i can't even begin to clean until I can get rid of something. I so like a clean and organized space though.
    I love the black batiks!

  3. I always need to clean out the garage before Girl Scout cookie season. My husband comes in and says, gee, you could fit a car in here! The cookies are gone now and the empty space is filling up quickly!

  4. I wish that someone that I"m married to would clean our garage! lol! Fortunately it's detached and I don't go in it anymore......maybe that was his plan all along.
    Love the new fabrics!

  5. We don't clean all the time because we have better things to do. Like sew.

  7. Love your new fabrics.

Just an FYI about storing in the garage...we had a hideabed in ours for about 6 weeks and the mattress got moldy. The concrete floors hold moisture, so be sure to wrap the mattress in waterproof wrapping.

  8. Hi Wanda,
Love the new batiks. I saw the Batiks PLus posting too, and was soooo tempted to get one of everything new.

As for garage cleaning, I don't do much in the winter due to the cold, so when it's finally warm enough to spend time out there, you just have to wonder where all the stuff came from!

  10. Those are gorgeous fabrics! I know you will work magic with them.

Isn't it a great feeling to have it cleaned? They are such easy places to fill up with junk.

  11. Beautiful batiks! I'm about to start cleaning my garage too; I'm thinking of making a quilt studio down there and it needs to be cleared so we can see what the space looks like.

Where does all the stuff come from??
