Yesterday was one of those days. I didn't finish running errands until 11:30. I had planned to bake a batch of shortbread cookies, so I mixed them and started eating lunch. One friend was coming by to pick up some fabric that she needed to finish a quilt started about 8 years ago. The first batch of cookies came out while she was here and after tasting one, she wanted the recipe. Then another friend stopped by that needed help with her computer. 2 hours later she left. I finished another bottle cozy that just needed its final stitching. The next few hours are a blur as I did many odd jobs.
Last night "The Bucket List" was on TV and I had missed it at the theater, so I got out the boxes of pre-cut pieces left over from the last 2 batik log cabin quilts and sewed until I ran out of bobbin thread. By then I was so tired I didn't want to do anything else. I didn't even answer comments yesterday, something I almost always do. There just weren't enough hours yesterday.......
No there weren't enough hours in the day but would you look at that happy bottle cozy and by the way… WHAT'S ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? I haven't answered that question myself so I have nothing to offer up in return for prying...
ReplyDeleteEven "one of those days" for you is about 1,000 times more productive than a normal day for everyone else. You continue to inspire me with not only your use of color, but your very impressive work ethic. I have been getting a LOT more sewing done since starting to read your blog. Thanks for the motivation!
ReplyDeletemuy lindo!!!
ReplyDeleteLo voy a hacer.
saludos argentinos!!!
Wanda,
ReplyDeleteYou have always reminded me of the Energizer Bunny! You are one of thee most productive quilters I know. We should all be so active and busy.
I really like that bottle cozy. Do you mind if I make them and sell them?
ReplyDeletesome days are like that aren't they. So busy that you hardly have time to think. I love the bottle cozy and haven't made one yet but need to make time to do so.

I agree.....I had a hd crash a few weeks ago and am still trying to get caught up. You have been very busy as always, love to look at all your projects. I would love to do journal quilts...one of these days! For not I am enjoying yours and like the idea of putting them in a basket to look at.
ReplyDeleteWow, All I did was make a journal cover.
ReplyDeleteYou may be exhausted, but you had friends over and cookies made on top of piecing leftovers. Girl you had a great day!! Cookies huh? Yum Yum!
ReplyDeleteI am so inspired. You are the bomb!! I love those bottle cozies. So cute. I need to start organizing my leftover fabric so I can be productive too.
ReplyDeleteEven with all the errands and odd jobs, you are the most prolific quilter I know! I love that bottle cozy! All I did today was make a paper pieced frog backwards!
ReplyDeleteOne of THOSE days, huh?!? I know what they are like. I've had way too many of them lately.
ReplyDeleteYou are just a "busy beaver" as they used to say. You accomplish so much in one day that you make my head spin. I love the bottle cozy and I want to make some mug rugs to give as gifts but first I must finish my small quilt for the stand I bought in Oswego last fall and also need to get my Christmas quilt traced so I can start the embroidery. So much to do so little time.
ReplyDeleteDid you say you have a pattern for the cozy? Or know where one is?
ReplyDeleteI agree there are not enough hours in the day most days. Are you willing to share your shortbread recipe? I have tried different ones and have not found a good recipe yet. I like your Journal Quilt #9.
ReplyDeleteIs there somewhere we can go to see your answers to the comments you get? I'm still kinda new at this blogging.
ReplyDeleteBobbie, I answer each comment back to the ones who have enabled their email. Yours is not working. You need to go to your Dashboard page, click on Edit Profile and put a check mark in front of Show my Email Address, and then scroll down and SAVE.
ReplyDeleteWanda you accomplish more than a lot of people half your age! You are just amazing, and I love that bottle cozy.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness - you do get heaps done!! Did you enjoy the buciet list... we loved it!
ReplyDeleteWanda, I get exhausted just reading your blog. I don't know how you do it all. And do it all so well.
