I stayed home all day yesterday.....it felt so good. I started out the day adding another side to the pieces I started the night before last. Then it was time to go down to the basement and straighten up for my art quilters group. I haven't seen them since the end of November because of the snowy winter we have had. Right now it stands as the 3rd snowiest winter on record. We had flurries all day yesterday and it is sticking on the grass but the driveway and streets were warm from our 50's the day before. I will bake cookies today and move the design walls that are stacked.
There was a pile of batiks that I hadn't put away so I chose some of my favorites and did some slicing and then put them all away. I worked on supply lists for 2 classes too. It was a good day.
I love days like that when you can tick away at your to-do list! Those fabrics pictured are gorgeous--take my breath away. Have fun with your quilting group!
I heard y'all were supposed to get snow - we woke up to 30 degrees, I'm glad that isn't cold enough to harm the plants that are blooming already. It will be nice for another warm up. Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
It is so fun to have a relaxing day like that, love your batiks and I would love to see a picture of your design wall with lots of bits and pieces of what you've been doing. What do you do when your art quilters group comes over?
What would I give for a day like that..seems like the older I get, the more my life is not my own. I cherish the days that I can stay home and sew my guts out.
I'm pretty sure you've been a bad (or good???) influence on me. I've been purchasing batiks the last few weeks. I'm trying to finish up a few "have to" projects before I dig in. I can't wait!
You had a busy day yesterday but it sounds as if you made some progress in the straightening up for your friends visit. I finished a small quilt for the rack I bought last fall at the shop hop and also squared up some 9 patch that my friend had given me. So I too had a productive day. Today has been a day of rest so far. I am anxious to see what you will be up too next.
Wanda - I have a lot of batik jelly rolls that I have NO idea what to do with - so I am looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with them

Those batiks look yummy! Glad you had a productive day. I got started sewing on my dot quilt yesterday, so hope to have some progress pics today.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite days are ones when I don't work, no company, no errands, no demands, and I get to quilt.
ReplyDeleteThis winter just goes on and on. We're nervously wondering what spring will bring. Hopefully the snow will melt slowly.
