I don't know how they measure a snow like this one that was blowing and drifting so much. This is how much drifted up against my garage door. My snow plow guy is here right now clearing the driveway.
This is looking to the right toward my sidewalk which I shoveled at 4 yesterday. It is about 12" deep (or deeper) right now.
I have thick stone siding on my house so I have window ledges about 5" wide. The snow was blowing against the west side of the house and all of the window ledges were piled this high.
Looking out that same window, this is the drift up next to the house. This is the same bush I showed all of the birds on yesterday, from a different window.
It's definitely a snow day again today.
Brrrr......that looks so cold too.
ReplyDeleteHope you can stay in and enjoy it.
Definitely a snow day! We have about 10 inches and I had to go out the patio door so I could shovel the drift away from the back door. Our front door has a 5 foot drift in front of it. I'm going out for little increments at a time. When my fingers get cold it is time for a break. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThis monster snow is amazing--stretching all the way from my house to yours and hundreds of miles beyond! It snowed here all day although doppler radar disagreed. I'm taking strange comfort in the fact that I survived the winter of '78 in Illinois and so should be able to get through this one too! Stay warm and well fed....
ReplyDeleteI posted some photos my daughter sent from WI and it looks a lot like your situation - stay warm.

Stay warm & stay safe! Time to make a snow ball quilt?
ReplyDeleteWOW! So much snow!! Take care and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how they measure it either. In some places the ground was bare and in others the drifts were three feet high. Glad to hear that you had a plow guy do your driveway - way too much to shovel!
