Yesterday morning there weren't any comments in my email. I thought you guys all took me seriosly when I said 'don't aswer that'. It seems Blogger was sloooooooow in sending the comments, not until 1 p.m. I have to thank you all for reasuring me that I'm OK. I also want to assure Jeannette that I don't have a drawer of string labeled too small to use! And like passingdowncrazy, said "Why would anyone want to be normal?". I really enjoyed all of the comments, so thank you! I was able to carry on and play with fabric. I found 2 Philip Jacobs florals (above) that have grey and almost grey backgrounds that look nice with the 2 grey fabrics. Maybe a zig zag quilt, hmmm...........
Are these fabrics cute or what? They go along nicely with the fabrics I bought last year. Now I need to actually do something with them for my red kitchen.
Here is a better photo of the border I put on the Bento Box quilt top that I finished a couple weeks ago. Because the fabric has both red and green in it, it looks like brown in a photo where in real life it looks green. This was taken with natural daylight so it is closer to the real thing.
You did not seriously make yourself dependent on other people's opinion? That would be crazy.
ReplyDeleteI read it and I thought: if this is crazy, I have 100 more reasons to think that I am.
Crazy isn't that a way of life. I second guess myself all the time. Your fabrics are really cute. Hope you find a project for them. Chris
ReplyDeleteGreat set of kitchen fabrics. Very retro, yet fresh looking.
ReplyDeleteAnd the small bits....not crazy, maybe fabric crazed because I have a problem not using them too.
I love how the Philip Jacobs fabrics look with the gray fabric! Those floral of his are some of the best aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you showed us the border on the quilt close up. It makes a world of difference and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with the kitchen print fabrics. I have seen those fabrics before and relly liked them.
And I love Phillip Tracy fabrics. They are always so gorgeous.
Have a good day.
Thanks for showing your bento box border - it's perfect. I would love to see photos of your red kitchen! And your zigzag idea is great (of course!) I love your passion for colour - it re-ignites mine daily!
ReplyDeleteI didn't go 'comment crazy' yesterday because so many others had already chimed in. You inspire the colour craze in many of us. I have just reorganized my sewing space so I would have more effective piles of fabrics. I have become quite addicted to the challenge of using up selvages from projects! Enjoy your day, Wanda.
I love the bento box border and can't wait to see the zigzag quilt.
ReplyDeleteYes, this photo is more true to the actual colors. I'm glad I was able to see it in real life because it is even better then!
ReplyDeleteThose kitchen prints are awesome! What are you planning on making?
ReplyDeleteThose red and white prints are fabulous! What a cheerful kitchen you must have!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics with the grey in the top photo -- you've really opened my eyes to using grey, a colour I never seem to buy!
Oh, we're all crazy in one way or another, aren't we?
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiousity, who makes that border fabric? It's beautiful!
I love the Jacobs fabrics with the grey too...please make a quilt for us with them, Wanda!
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading blogs on the fall blog hop and not reading my regular blogger friends- time to catch up with a few of you too.
My husband had a second cousin who needed help cleaning out her apartment to move. My mother in law did that and among the things she found was a box labeled " pieces of string too short to use" and another one " dead batteries". Now perhaps she was saving the dead batteries for the eco center but I do not know what she was thinking about the string... It made us laugh..
Love the beautiful Philip Jacobs fabric- just bought a piece of his not long ago for the first time. I am going to see Kaffe Fassett speak on Tuesday evening. It should be a very enjoyable evening. Warmest regards,
Anna
Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteI am glad to know that you are not crazy! (You know the real ones never ask "am I crazy")
That mixer fabric reminds me of my grandma's kitchen curtains way back (but the colors were turquoise and olive green on white). Now you'll have to show us what you did with the fabric!

There is a sign which can be found somewhere in most offices. "You Don't Have to be Mad to Work Here, but it Helps"!
ReplyDeleteLove that kitchen fabric.
I happened onto your blog this morning, and was hooked! Your taste in fabrics and colors are the same as mine, and I've found some really great quilts here that spurred my creativity. Especially with the Kaffes -- I have lots, but I always hesitate to cut them up :-) I'll be checking in regularly. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your red kitchen fabrics! And of course the Philip Jacobs. Can't wait to see what you do with them. I have some in my stash too and I have been afraid to use them. They are just too gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe gray with Philip Jacobs florals will be gorgeous no matter pattern you use! Looking forward to that!
ReplyDeleteAs always, it is a treat to see your fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI had to go back and see the prints you showed us last year. Your new pieces will compliment the cherry piece and mixer beaters. Plus that splash of polka dot on yellow makes me smile. Anxious to see your end result.
Bento Box, has a grand feeling to it.

The floral fabric is beautiful and the kitchen fabric is too cute! Looking forward to see what you will be creating.
