I finally got a good photo of "Chocolate and Caramel". I finished the quilting on it in Feb. this year but the top was completed in June of 2008. I brought 2 design walls up to the living room and took this photo with the natural daylight .
I took 3 detail photos too since I gave this away last week and mailed it to the recipient on Friday. I want to remember all of the wonderful fabrics I used in it.
This is another one that you would have to see in person to see the richness of the colors. They are more subdued in a photo.
This is the tree across the street, my view from the front door. The temperature is dipping down low at night. It is getting dark by a little after 7 p.m. Autumn is here.
Another stunning finish, Wanda! Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this one again! I love the richness of the browns. Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe colors in the chocolate and caramel quilt are to die for! Just wonderful and the quilt turned out beautiful! Chilly here too. The colors of the trees are pretty glorious right now.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and name for it. Beautiful colors of Fall...not quite here yet.
ReplyDeleteYum! Looks good enough to eat!
ReplyDeleteIsn't this SOMETHING ELSE? I love how these colors work together with this pattern!!!
ReplyDeletealways nice to get some photos of a quilt before it leaves your home - I always like to do that too. Love the browns in that one.
ReplyDeleteWe are drifting towards fall also and are getting in the mid 40's at night - it never warmed up yesterday so it got too chilly in the house after last nights 45 and I turned the heat on this morning to chase the chill out.

Stunning as usual, but I really love how you continued the pattern into the border!
ReplyDeleteI loved this quilt when I perused your archives a while ago and have been waiting for better, bigger photos. Thank you. It's a lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteStunning! I love it! It was cold here too. Yesterday I rode my scooter up to the store and I had to wear my winter coat. The colours are amazing this year! I just love to sit and look at my neighbour's trees.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt! There are a lot of fabrics in my stash in these colors so I think this pattern needs to go on my "Bucket List". I especially like that it's easy units I can do, a few at a time, as time permits.
ReplyDeleteSomeone is going to be very excited to open THAT package.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt, and I like that quilting idea too with the intersecting wavy lines....simple yet effective.
Yes, we have a tree at the end of the yard that is starting to 'show off' God's beauty in a whole new
'dress', too ! I love how this time of year sends me scurrying like a squirrel to find 'sitting work'....hand-quilting and knitting !
That quilt just glows and shines, even in the pic. I think it's one of your very best. *S* And that's saying something.
ReplyDeleteNot cold enuf here in the city yet for trees to turn - just droopy green right now. However, the bldg heat did come on yesterday.
beautiful quilt and the tree is just gorgeous too.
ReplyDeletebeautiful quilt. i love the assortment of browns - from deep and dark to nearly neutral.
ReplyDeleteYour C&C quilt is wonderful. Lucky new owners! Fall is definitely here on the west coast as well. I picked my pumpkins this morning!
ReplyDelete"Chocolate and Caramel" is one of my favorites. The person that was gifted this piece has to be very special.
ReplyDeleteThose autumn leaves... no wonder they wrote a song about them. Autumn leaves is 'our song' and your photo just made me smile.

Chocolate and caramel is so rich and warm looking! What a wonderful quilt someone's receiving!!
ReplyDeleteWe may have frost in the city tonight. I think there was frost in the suburbs last night. This sure is a blast of cold weather, although they do say it will warm up a bit.
The quilt is like a huge caramel-topped chocolate brownie--I just want to lick it, it's that delicious! I know that you might say it's a simple-looking quilt, but your way with color makes it spectacular!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing....both the quilt and the tree ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty quilt. We forget how rich and luxurious brown can be, but you've surely shown it in all its finery in this one!
ReplyDeleteI can't write anything new or original or unique, after reading all these glowing comments.
ReplyDeleteThe Q is so rich in that glorious range of colors from chocolate to caramel. Perfect name.
When a quilt leaves my home for a new one, the closeup photos of the fabrics are more meaningful to me than the quilt-from-a-distance shots. We've spent days and weeks up close & personal with the fabric. That's where the memories and familiarity are.
Choclate and caramel are two of my favorite things! The rich hues are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so warm and inviting. The recipient is one lucky person!
