It worked!

I was hoping that my twisted rail quilt pattern was going to work in a scrappy version.  Click here to see it with just 4 fabrics.  I am pleased with the scrappy version and especially in the red/white/blue scraps.  I have 4 more blocks to sew today and cutting of kits to do as well.  This quilt will probably get a border to make it a little bigger.  I plan to post a tutorial soon.

I remembered to go out yesterday afternoon and take a picture of the porch pots in place.

Here is the top view of the bottom pot.  I just love all of the variety of plants.

  2. The Rail Fence is really pleasing to the eye. I need to get some plants for the porch pots also. Mine are kinda sick looking. I tried saving some geraniums and they are growing but very slow. Chris

  10. Yesterday I said your pots would be over-flowing with by summer. Seeing all them today... they are over-flowing already..... Love what you do with your planters. A great entry welcome... Just gorgeous

I liked the fact that you use scraps for the 'TwistedRail' and it does look great in four colors. (Plus seeing those other baby quilts again made me smile).

  13. Neat look on that version of a rail fence. Like some others, that is on my someday list too. Your pots are super. Everything is later here, but my Jackmani clematis is in bloom... and it snowed this weekend. Such craziness... but green, purple and white are a nice color combination!

  19. The twisted rail fence not only looks great but it would make a great comfort quilt for a boy. I am really looking forward to the tutorial since I try to have at least one comfort quilt going at all times.

  20. Loving your pots up the steps of your porch........I'm doing a similar thing myself, in a much less grand way at our house-trailer. I never thought of mixing plants in one pot...that's beautiful !
