I have this little basket of scraps of pieced fabric. I decided to dive into it for the little bits blocks. I made 30 new blocks, not trimmed yet. I also made one that can be trimmed into 4.5" to use with them.
The Amaryllis is in full bloom now. The other one that has buds looks like it might bloom this week too. This is such a treat to have blooms this late in the season.
Look at the beautiful lime green with the coral/red.
I was surprised by this picture when I saw it on the computer monitor. They were just a light tan when I looked at them from a distance.
Your little bits quilt is going to be beautiful when it is done. How big do you think it will be?? Your Amaryllis looks gorgeous! The lime green in the center is one of my favorite colors.
The amaryllis is beautiful. It reminds me of the counted cross stitch I made of an amaryllis years ago. I will have to find it and post a pic on my blog for you to see. The little bits are wonderful. Your progress everyday on this project is great!
As my second daughter is called Amaryllis, i am still getting a kick out of seeing your Amaryllis Hippeastrums in bloom:)
Here in Australia, they start blooming in October - when she was born. The name is not only for such a beautiful flower, but also from 14th and 15th century poetry, about the shepherdess, rural, idealised state of 'simple living', and of madrigals such as 'Though sweet Amaryllis Dance in Green'.
My flower blooms into adulthood, turning 18 this year....
Hey Patti, about that cross stitch, would love to see it!
About your scraps, ADORE them! Made a wheelchair bag and some cushions for it ou of my favourite bright batiky scraps recently. I get lots of compliments when I am rolling around the shops:)
I have the big pickle project that I am determined to keep after ~ but I also have a lot of batik bits and small pieces I WANT to play with ... so many colors, so little time! Such fun watching you play!!
