I made a few blocks last night from the pink/red group paired with green. I am wondering if I could mix a few of them into the purple/green combination layouts. When I get some more sewn I will try it.I finished cutting down my overgrown bushes and got all of the big branches out for the last city pickup of brush for this year. The weigela may not bloom next year because I cut it back severely. I know I am supposed to trim spring bloomers right after they bloom but I never got around to it.
Today is our first Tabitha/sewing circle meeting at church for making the preemie layettes. I think we might be making some more of the Chrismon ornaments too. I just show up and do whatever needs to be done.
Your pink and green just feels good and I can visualize your purple/green combo with them. But will wait till you show us.
Time for me to get with it and get my gardens ready for winter also. I am not the savvy gardener I should be. I didn't know you could cut back bushes in the fall. I always cut back in the spring.
Our mountain tops have snow, but none in the valley yet. Eastern MT. got 3 inches in the valley this weekend! Last year we got an EARLY introduction to winter and then a very mild winter. Illinois got first prize for the longest coldest winter I think last year.
I think the purples would work well with the pinks and greens. Love the way they look! My church ladies are thinking about starting a sewing class to teach people how to sew for themselves.
Hi Wanda, I like your red/green combo so far. You have a green thumb with your quilting, so your trimmed bushes should do just fine. (Some gardening rules are made to be broken -- just like quilting). Vicky F
I see rose bushes more than watermelon. But whatever one calls it, it is going to be absolutely gorgeous. Pink and green is one of my favourite combinations!
