Bright Batik finished

I think this may be the closest to actual color picture that I have gotten so far of this quilt. The binding is done and the quilt is so soft. It is all batiks on the front. The earliest picture I have of this one was in April 2005 so I must have started it earlier in the spring that year. That makes it 4 and a half years old when it finally got finished.Today was a much better day than yesterday (no emergencies or headaches). It was a fairly slow day at the store so I got 4 blocks embroidered on the ABC quilt for the store display. I did 2 on Thursday when I was there and I have 5 to go to finish all 26 letters.

I need to make another list of projects per day and get back on track. I will search all of the shelves and boxes tomorrow for more in progress projects. I have about 20 or more waiting to be quilted so some of them need to get on that list.

  1. I love the small square lines on the block edges! The colours are overwhelming. If I had a quilt like this, I'd use it in a north room to balance temperatures.

  4. Your batik quilt is gorgeous, I have recently finished my first batik project. King size comforter size. I am in love with batiks now, and sleep under mine every night. Take a look at it on my blog. After seeing yours I am inspired to work with brighter batiks. I have lots of scraps that I think I could add some brights to for a very different look. Congratulations on finishing!!!

  13. I love that quilt. I made the same pattern a couple of years ago for a friend (although yours appears to be larger). I see something new every time I look at it. I can understand the lengthy delay in completing it. Had it not been for a deadline, I might be pulling mine out today to sew on it.

Gorgeous glowy batik quilt, especially in the up-close shot. Those tiny squares really add a sparkle.

  17. Love this quilt. The colors are wonderful and I like how you've done the little squares in some strips. The pieced border is nice too...artsy. Great job.

  18. Quilt is just stunning, you mention that you finally got it completed after 4.5 years... But you did not mention the 100's of other quilts and quilt projects you completed in those 4.5 years, while this one sat on the back burner.

You are inspiration for us to clean up our projects that we keep saying some day, I will finish that.
