I decided to be lazy and not cut any more green strips to make sets to match with the pink/red ones. I cut all of the strip sets and made 6 more pink/red and green blocks to total 74 and the 12 all pink/red blocks. I have a lot of little trimmings from the strip sets so I pieced 2 of these to be used on journal covers.
A little optical illusion there -- depending on where you focus your eyes, those joined triangle squares make pinwheels or pieced squares in squares. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love using up the scraps? The colors are gorgeous! I have to say that I am a little sad that winter is on its way.
ReplyDeletewhenever I cannot quilt, I turn to your website and live vicariously. As always, your work is totally satisfying!
ReplyDeleteYou have a "wandaful" eye for color! I love that you use everything... scraps neatly tucked away for a later date. Very nice:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure trove you have in your fabric collection!! Love all of the wonderful colors and you continue to amaze with all of the eye blinking ideas!! Thanks for the inspirations!!! Gail Norback
ReplyDeleteI just love what you can make out of scraps, you always have great ideas. thanks Wanda
ReplyDeleteI love the results of your playing iwth the HST's -- both of those little layouts are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe purples and greens for journal covers are just so gorgeous.
I love the colours in the second photograph.
ReplyDeleteI can see what Cheri means - an optical illusion indeed.
I can't believe that October is half over, and I certainly can't believe it's SLEETING here in CT today.
ReplyDeleteLots' of disbelief.
Also, those little squares are adorable!
Pink/red plus green... you know I will check every day to see final design that you create with them.
ReplyDeleteYour journal covers always "jump right off the page."
Little squares ~ I can see why you had fun designing with them.
I even hear my grandchildren, comment about how time goes by so fast. So it is not just affecting our age bracket.

I am ALL for simple pleasures ... thanks for sharing yours with us!!
ReplyDeletep.s. I'm still lost somewhere in early September ... I can look at the calendar and "know" that it is mid-October but it just won't "stick" ... but then I leave work to drive home and it is nearly dark ... so then I am reminded big-time that it is "fall" ...
I used triangles for two table mats, which I love. I called them, "Honey, We are Having Leftovers!" and "Honey, We are Having Leftovers Again!" Beads in the centers of the pinwheels would look neat!
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING the purple and lime green together! Your blog always provides something to tickle our mind...
ReplyDeleteActually, I don't think anyone could ever use the word "lazy" to describe you....so, I'm a bit shocked to see that you use it to describe yourself! You are far from lazy....You just took an artistic twist in preparing your next piece of art.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Such fun, playing with your little squares. Love them.
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to see what you have been dabbling with each day.
Good idea about the pencil box; I bet quite a few half square triangles could fit in there, ready for your next inspiration!
