I had three bindings waiting to be done, so I chose to do the tiny quilt first.
For play time I sorted that leaning pile of quarter yard or less into color groupings.
I will be starting on a fairly large project before the week is over. I am not going to show it until it is done because it is a design as you go and a lot of decisions have to be made along the way. I'll still be hopping from project to project though with my limited attention span, so never fear, I'll have something to show almost every day.
Hey Wanda, we don't mind listening in as you make those design decisions along the way. It is always interesting to hear the ramblings of other quilters as they decide which way to take a piece and why. Don't be shy... share :>)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I love the multi-color fabric for the back of the sea shore peice. Can't wait to see how you quilt it!

You continue to amze me with your continuing accomplishments.
ReplyDeleteI hope to get back to work when I come down from the high I am still on after my show opened.

Your beach quilt turned out very nice. Who would've thought it would go there with a choice of fabrics? I do see the fish net and star fish. I never learned to swim either. I am a dry land girl!! It okay if you don't want to post about your decision making. Our comments probably confuse what you have in mind sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your batiks;) Look forward to seeing your new project as it unfolds...you will give us a sneak peak every now and then, won't you???
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about why you say this: "I am not going to show it until it is done because it is a design as you go and a lot of decisions have to be made along the way."
ReplyDeleteWill you then talk to us later about how you made some of the design decisions as you went along?
Waving from Tiskilwa...
'Seaside' quilt is a beauty to behold. Really like the backing you have shown us.
ReplyDeleteSmall quilt turned out to be another grand piece of exuberant color.

Gorgeous backing fabric! As long as the quilt will be used (and not have the backing hiding against a wall), it will be perfect.
ReplyDeleteBeauful thing! I love water and swimming. -- The small quilt comforts me seeing that even you know 91 and 89° angles. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous, fabulous finish ~ I adore being near water (see quote on my blog post yesterday) . . . blue skies, sparking water and your gorgeous quilt, oh my!
ReplyDeletePlease share your design as you go ... not so much to gather opinions on which way you "should" go, but to let us peek over your shoulder as you work.
I like the modernity the fabrics have given to the quilt in the first picture. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric you've chosen for the backing fabric is fantastic!!! I love the little fish in colour!
ReplyDeleteNot even a hint what you're starting?
The backing is perfect. I love this quilt and its colors.
ReplyDeleteMaybe for you it is more of a bathroom quilt than a beach one! :)
This is so gorgeous...love the colors and design too. How will you quilt it?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the fabric all sorted into stacks of color too! I keep my strings sorted (for the most part)!
ReplyDeleteThe beach quilt turned out very nice! I love the backing fabric. Wish I had a stash like yours!
