Making progress

I got the last 2 blocks sewn and assembled the top. Now I'm auditioning for borders. This is about my 8th try and I think I will go with it. There are fish in the multicolored fabric and seashells in the border print, so I guess it is a beach quilt. It was below zero last night again and a hope of 11 degrees today. By Saturday they say we will have 50's. At least the sun is shining today so I can pretend it is warm out.

  2. I love all your batik fabrics! I found one the other day and thought of your blog, so I bought it. It looks like copper that has those greenish-blue tarnish marks creeping all over it. Where do you find all the diferrent fabrics, and have you ever dyed your own?

PS your piles look like my whole living room right now! So many bits, so little organization!

I like your choice of border.

We're supposed to get to 40 this weekend which is a heat wave compared to today (2).

  9. What a summery feel that gives! I'm thinking starfish at the beach.
We're back to the -20 range with wind chills today and tomorrow. By Sunday, though, they say we may hit 50!! I can't wait. That's going to feel tropical. LOL

  14. And those look almost like starfish! Sometimes they do lose a leg, but they just grow it back. It's a very happy quilt.
