Thank you everyone for your votes on yesterday's post. As each person explained why they chose what they did, it made me look at some of the fabric choices with new vision. Here is the final count:
#1 had over 20 votes
#2 had 12
#3 had 9
#4 had 5
#5 had 4
and the fabric I showed the first day got 3 votes.
As second choices each of the fabrics got either 3 or 4 votes.
I haven't done anything with them yet but I have made the decision to make 2 small pieces so I can use 2 different fabrics. There are 2 blocks of each combination so I will put one of each in each little quilt. I probably won't get them done until after Christmas but hope to do them before the new year.
We are in for snow or combination snow/sleet/rain for the next 3 days. That sounds like a lot of cleaning off the sidewalk for the mailman and/or company. I would almost rather have a foot of snow than the freezing rain combination.
Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteI missed out on the votes for yesterday so I'll cast mine today for #1 also.
I love the photo of your squirrel. But even better I love the frost on your windows. How did you get such a terrific photo?? It is interesting to see the voting results, I can't wait to see the quilts. I am off to give my friend her lovely gift today!!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both with the freezing rain combination. We have the same forecast and it is snowing pretty heavily now. We have a lot of driving to do and sleet is the worst.
ReplyDeleteVery Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thanks for sharing the results. I find, with my art, when I post and ask for a vote, that it helps me to see what **I** really wanted. If everyone votes for what I "know" is wrong, it is okay. Ultimately the artist makes the final decision.
ReplyDeleteI love the frost picture. we never get such stong detailed designs in the frost here. But I will accept that and be happy that it is never THAT cold here. Ha ha.
Love that frost on your window! Absolutely beautiful. But those squirrels -- we fed them corncobs one year and then when we stopped (because nature was once again providing abundant food), one squirrel was angry and came up to our window and tore away at the wood around it. Kind of scary!
ReplyDeleteLove your frosty picture...Many a morning I've gone out to my car and found the intricate designs from Jack Frost...I always think about taking a picture but then usually I'm in a hurry and simple melt it all away as quickly as possible...
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays
I love the squirrel! My squirrels are digging in the snow, actually helping out the birds by uncovering the seeds, which are rapidly being covered in SNOW!
ReplyDeleteI saw the frost on the window this morning and wondered if I could get a photo. I just love Jack's work!!!
I'll send you the picture, if it turns out!

I started humming "frosted window panes" ~ ~ ~ I think we all marvel at Jack Frosts art work.
ReplyDeleteYour fat little squirrel is no doubt all fluffed up to keep warm. My squirrels are pests. And so are the wild turkeys.
We are finally catching up with all of you snow bound folks. We got a good 8" yesterday, including through the night. Love it. Living in the mountain valley our roads get attention ASAP. But I agree freezing rain is just plain nasty.

p.s. enjoyed the vote tally and being a part of it.
yes,,,,my vote for #1 too! cute little squirrel
ReplyDeleteYour photos today are exactly the kind I remember from childhood in southwestern lower Michigan ~ my sister and I absolutely loved the frost on our windows and snow on the ground ~ we did not understand why it bothered our parents (of course, we were too young to drive at that point).
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the coming days ~ we are getting rain, rain and more rain . . . having Christmas with oldest son and wife tonight before they fly off to spend the long holiday week with her parents in NC. That also means we will have the granddog while they're gone (and she HATES rain).
:-)
Oh, I love #5. It's perfect. Please show us which one you finally go with. Thanks for including us in your project.
ReplyDeleteI bet you were glad to see who your visitor was when the motion detector went off!
Ahhh, I miss tree squirrels; they're so cute! We have skinny ground squirrels in CA. It seems to be a bad winter everywhere.
