I went back for a second run through and found 3 more pieces. I usually like to know what the end purpose of the quilt will be too. Will it be a wall hanging or a cuddly quilt? You can find its full photo on this post (scroll down). I think it looks like a game board so it would be a nice wall hanging. If it becomes a cuddly quilt, it would be a baby quilt since it is small.
I did make a decision on these blocks. I need to make one more and it will be the center of a medallion quilt. Here is a photo of the Fonthill quilt I made which has a similar center. Borders will just be designed as I go and there is a chance that there will be 2 - 4 different borders in each round.
I picked up my knitting several times yesterday and have all three dishcloths at 40 stitches now. I usually go to 44 stitches and then start decreasing one stitch each row.
We got 1.1" of rain on Saturday. That is the first measurable rain all month. Our grass has lots of brown spots and the weeds are looking pretty ugly. This should perk it up a little. All of the storms missed us yesterday but there are 2 more days of spotty showers predicted. Maybe we will get lucky and get some of the rain.

We got a short bit of rain this morning, the first since we got home Sept 9th. It cooled things off so both the rain and cool down were welcome. I love the fish print but wouldn’t use it ona back because it wouldn’t be seen on a wall hanging. If I go by that criteria, I’d use the weird zigging zag print on the right.
ReplyDeleteNo rains here and my poor tomato plants are looking pretty shabby right now; still some small green tomatoes hanging on for dear life!!
ReplyDelete48 this morning and actually turned on the heat for a shot of warmth...
I like the Fish print for the back of the baby quilt--so cute for a little one...
I like the those 1/2 sqs in that configuration a lot...and I peeked back at your Fonthill piece--just stunning work, Wanda...
Hugs for a good week Julierose
Any of those fabrics would make a good looking back for that small quilt. I don't know if we got any rain last night or not. There was some lighting and wind going on, but I fell asleep and didn't hear anything once my head hit the pillow. There is rain in the forecast for every day this week, but will it actually come? I guess I will have to wait and see!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it is to flit from one wonderful project to another! I like the red background fabric with triangles and circles that's above the fish print in the 2nd photo but you won't go wrong no matter which you choose!
ReplyDeleteWe may have rain Wed, Th, and Fri but maybe not. 80*F today, 60*F tonight.
Happy Autumn Equinox!!!!
Hugs!
I really like the fish print for a child's quilt. Lots of humidity here (96%) but no forecase for rain.
ReplyDelete1st choice: the one above the fish
ReplyDelete2nd choice: the fish
3rd choice: the bottom left - rust and orange dots
Flitting burns calories, too! I like the fish and the one above it....but any of them would work. You got more rain than we did.
ReplyDeleteOh Wanda! This is a wow quilt...love it! So much to look at. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOf the first five choices, the far left, fun for little fingers to trace the curves. Stunning colours in every one though.
ReplyDeletevery colorful - I see several in the backing choices that I like now to wait and see what you choose
ReplyDeleteI vote for a wall hanging, it’s a beautiful fun piece to brighten any room. I know you have already stitched on the backing on by now. Enjoyed seeing the other top in progress.
ReplyDeleteI like all of those backing choices!
