Sorting and stitching........

These trays are the 2.5" x 4.5" rectangles of batiks, most of which will be used for colorwash.  There was one tray of a previously cut group and I added another tray and worked the newly cut rectangles into them.  On the right is the stack of trays with one color on each and they are a mess and need to be sorted and straightened.  I'm spending a couple hours a day on organization in the basement, nothing to take photos of.

Last night I continued on the hand stitching of the binding of this Bow Tie quilt.  I got one long side and half of a short side finished.  That's a total of 2 1/2 sides done now.

Earlier in the day I did some clean up on one section of my front garden.  A couple plants didn't make it through the winter so I'll be transplanting something in there from the back garden.  The cold front came through around 5 p.m. yesterday so today might be a good day to work on that section.

  1. Great to get yourself organized before the next (and for) the next round of sewing begins!!:)))
We have gotten our next prompt for Dark days and it is Kantha stitching on two 10" blocks...so much hand stitching--I will have to ponder this one...

  2. Organizing takes time, but is so worth it in the end. I took a walk thru the yard last evening and I have so much weeding to do. The creeping Charley is out of control.

  3. I can see a colorwash in your trays already. 🤗. Bindings are so important on quilts and yours are always perfection.

  4. I don’t remember seeing a photo of your rectangle trays before. Your colorwash from rectangles always intrigue me—they have their own eye catching way of blending! —Roxanne

  6. The binding fabric on your bow tie quilt is stunning - I forgot to mention that yesterday. Your rectangle trays are so pretty.
