I got another size of this shape die. It is one of my favorites and this large 8" will be great with the big prints. The die board is 10" so I can use the layer cake pieces with it. Over several years I bought several of the Kaffe Fassett layer cakes so I could see all of the prints in each new line without having to order a large yardage piece.
Here are 3 quilt tops I made with the shape and I think they all used the 6" size. I sold the 2 at the left and I still have the one on the right.
These four are finished quilts. I gifted the pink which I think used the 4" size. I still have the one below the pink one. The one in the center sold at a pop-up shop and the one on the right was gifted. I think the two X and Plus quilts were made with the 4" die also. The one on the right used the 6" die.
I finished the hand stitching on the Kaffe Bowtie quilt at 10:15 last night so I'll do the photo shoot today and post it tomorrow.

Nicesummary of the quilts you’ve made with that die shape. I’ll have to pick one up one next they have the 50% sale……because they always have one at some point!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts you've made with that shape!
ReplyDeleteYou have made a lot of great quilts using that shape. The bigger die will show off those larger prints like you said and I can't wait to see the first quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love that the new die will work with 10” squares, and so many of the Kaffe prints work well with larger shapes.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts made with that die--:))) Will be looking forward to see the larger one using layer cakes...
ReplyDelete61 here and cloudy; still "feels" chilly with the wind out of the East.
Hope your upcoming weekend is a good one hugs, Julierose
What is the name of this die please? I love all the quilts you've made with the smaller versions.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing the wide variety of designs you've made using that shape! Does it have a name?
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful array of quilt tops really shows off your creativity. Fun post today Wanda.
ReplyDeleteI like that shape too and have used mine off and on for several quilts now but not near as many as you have, the quilts can look so different by doing it in rows like your pink and green one to the one next that is in squares
ReplyDeleteIt's #10 in the Qube companion set. You can order specific dies from the sets independently (as "replacements"), but they take a loooong time to ship and deliver.
ReplyDeleteI see the 4.5 inch die but can not find this 8 inch die in a qube set or individually. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
DeleteOh, that will be great for large prints!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised to read that the beautiful pink one on the left sold, I love it!
