I got a few strips cut for quarter square triangles while I did a load of laundry. I didn't get any farther, too much else needed to be taken care of. Thanks to everyone who weighed in on my dotted fabric question yesterday.
It was a cloudy day yesterday with rain late in the day. I took this photo with just the daylight coming in the east picture window. The medium rose plant has some blooms and the champagne color in the striped pot should be blooming today.
84 years, didn't that used to sound old? Like ancient? I'm just happy I can still do what I love to do.
Very happy birthday to you. You do inspire the rest of us old agers. I think having something you love to do really helps. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday! It is wonderful you are able to do what you want to do at 84. Thank goodness for pacemakers. Sending you a virtual birthday hug.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Keep on keeping on!
ReplyDeleteyou are blessed wanda...i pray the same for me...i sit and do cross stitch and many in my building are amazed that i can still see well enough for it...i am so very thankful that even tho my mobility is challenged, my other abilities are still functioning well...many many happy returns of the day!

Yes, 84 used to sound ancient, but I also remember thinking my mom was ancient and about ready to keel over when I found out she was in her late 30s. Hey - I was about 5 at the time :-) 84 sounds less and less old the closer I get to it. I hope I still have my wits about me and still tossing the fabrics and stitching supplies if I make it that long.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, hope you have a fantastic day!
Happy birthday! You are amazing! All that you do with sewing, baking, and the gardening is inspirational. I don't like those days when you have to break down and perform the mundane stuff - laundry, dishes, cleaning - but it can't be pushed to the side forever. After my 6 hour cleaning session last weekend, I will be pretty good for a while.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! It is a special blessing to be able to do the things we have enjoyed for years and years.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Wanda!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Wanda! I am right behind you—will be 83 in May. I remember your 65th birthday, I think it was. Our art quilters were at your house and I gave you a t-shirt that said “Go to your studio and make stuff”, but you already had one. Can that be almost 20 years ago?

Happy Birthday, Wanda! Wishing you many happy, healthy returns of the day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - hope you can continue to do all the things you love to do. At times we slow down a little bit but then we keep on going
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Yes it used to sound old to me but doesn't now - lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - you are amazing! And I am so grateful you share yourself with us.
ReplyDeleteWell Happy Birthday Wanda! I wish I could say that in person to you. You are 84 years young. We are all glad you are able to find joy in your craft.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your lead-off image I thought, "oh, she is making a Christmas quilt." I thought it was a tree! So, my question is - have you ever made a Christmas quilt?
Happy 84th Birthday Wanda;))) Funny, people in their 70's used to seem ancient to me, but now i consider them youngsters!! hahaha
ReplyDeleteEverything is relative isn't it? Glad that you are still producing your lovely works and sharing them with us all...
30 this morning when I left to do my weekly food shop--i definitely wore my "puffy coat"--brrrr.
Just finished making banana-nut bread in my old bread machine which is still working fine. Like so many older items, really made well and to last.
hope your day is wonderful hugs, Julierose
P.S. when i saw the green triangles I thought it was a Christmas tree, too--such a lovely deep green in those...;)))
Happy birthday, Wanda!

ReplyDeleteWill family or friends be coming to bring cake, cookies, and other yummy foods?
You certainly deserve to have a few days here and there when you don't accomplish much, so fret not.
Hugs!
Happy Birthday, Wanda. You are an inspiration in more ways than one.
