Many different fabrics in binding.............

I have about 60" left to hand stitch on this binding.  Six of the different fabrics in the binding are shown here.  There are 3 more fabrics in the last 60".  I hope I can finish this one today and then start on the binding on the pink/gray quilt.

I decided to open up the panel that came with the Charley Harper fat quarter selection I showed a few days ago.  It might end up as part of a backing for a quilt.  It is 36" x 45".

  1. Some of Harper’s work is packed full of images and I get “Where’s Waldo” overload and so putting the panel on the back is a good choice by me, lol. What is the brown animal, do you know? It looks like it has an open mouth but that doesn’t jive with what appears to be two eyes, lol.

  2. Oh, I just love a scrappy binding on a scrappy quilt! And I never thought of using panels on a back. Great idea since I usually never know what to do with panels folks give me for comfort quilts.

  3. I see many birds and possibly a fawn in the Charley Harper fabric? Love all the colors in the first quilt you show

  4. C. Harper's panel looks like it's appliqued--very pretty one!! ;)))
I love that multi-fabric binding...goes beautifully with the piece;)))

53 here this morning -- sunny but smokey air--we can smell the burning in the air today...staying inside to avoid it.

I put away my hand stitching for a while--my hands are really swollen up and sore....those fine finger movements are just too painful...Hugs julierose

  5. That panel is beautiful. Putting on the back of a baby quilt sounds like a great idea. Love that binding and you are close to having it done. I am going to have to do more scrappy bindings.

  6. I'm not a panel quilter -- but for this CH panel I'd make an exception!

  7. Love the photo of your scrappy quilt and binding, it has such ‘come wrap me in it’ look to it. And Charley Harper’s creative panel is so full of his signature bird’s and a sweet fawn. His art has me mesmerized

  10. Love that panel -- I'd used it for the front!! We are just moved to a new place and still not found all my supplies... but have lots of quilts that were hiding in our former home. Now to figure out a new home for them!
