Binding day..............

Before I could cut pieces for the next quilt I needed to take advantage of the partially cleared table and trim this quilt and cut its binding.  It only took about a half hour to find the perfect binding fabric.

On the other quilt I have almost 2 sides hand stitched, 2 corners done.

The terrific weather continues here with temperatures in the 70s and really low dew point.  It looks like we'll have some low 80s days and then back to high 70s again.  I wish this weather would continue all the way to winter.  We do need rain though and until the dew point rises we probably won't get any.

  1. That really is the perfect binding fabric. Do you hand stitch in the evenings? Lucky you on the weather!

  3. binding looks like the perfect color. We might actually get rain this morning - I keep wondering if it will get here or fizzle away - it is kind of dark but still none

  4. Lovely binding choice--looks great!!
77 here with a 66 dewpoint--had our morning wake up coffees out on the back deck-aaaaah finally.:)))) We plan to take a slow stroll by the CT River boardwalk this evening if the weather holds like this...My lego strips have mounted up quite a bit--I may start to sew a few together--which means ironing as I go...

  5. Totally enjoying a few days of "false fall" here - it won't last but is so appreciated while it lasts. Beautiful binding choice and the one in process is perfect.

  6. I know it had to feel good to find the perfect binding so quickly. And I look forward to seeing that quilt in full view ~ seems I’ve forgotten what it looks like. Brown and blues is one of my favorite combinations. And your hand stitching on this red one in the works is a signal of how special it really is.

  7. You found such perfect binding fabrics for these two quilts and will have them finished in no time!
Our high today is to be 85*F with a low of 66*F and the coming 7 days will be much the same according to the forecast. This is really odd for August here when it is usually much hotter. No complaints from us, though!

    Hugs!

  9. I love the binding you've chosen for both. And I am trying very hard not to envy you for that weather. It is beastly hot and humid here. As usual. Ready for fall!!

  10. I love binding day, that's when it all comes together and it's finished. I always have another quilt either started in my head or actually started before I finish the one before it. It's funny how when the quilt bug bites you you're hooked for life. :)
