The last seams were sewn on the pink/blue quilt top in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. I got it pressed shortly after and took its portrait. It's a small top, just 48" x 60". I like to have small quilts available to gift to others.
Last night I started sewing the center columns for the blue batik interweave quilt. This is 15 of 27 that will be in the quilt This isn't necessarily the order of the strips. That will be decided when I get the next 12 sewn and added to the group. The strips that will be added to the top and bottom of the columns are 16" long.
Today is supposed to be the best day of our 3 day weekend. Rain predicted for Sunday. If it is like yesterday.....there wasn't enough rain to even wet the bottom of the rain gauge. The storm split again and mostly missed us.
Having quilts on hand is, well, handy. Wanda, do you have a standard label or do you make each one different? I really, really like the interplay of Interweave!
ReplyDeleteLike Nan, I also really like the way Interweave is looking. You are so very productive in finishing up projects. Your gift recipients are lucky!
ReplyDelete48x60 is a nice size and this one would make a good baby quilt or just one to lay over legs - or just to look at! I to like the interweave design
ReplyDeleteooh the colors...doncha love kaffes???
ReplyDeleteLove them both. They are so happy.
ReplyDeleteA ‘Saturday Special’ just to set back and look at all day. Blue and Pinks has such dazzling charisma . And the blues in your interweave show off so nicely .

Love your pink/blue top--so pretty...nice job sewing this together...
ReplyDeleteIn the 60's here all today so far; very chilly and strong breezes still gathering cold off the ocean's waters. Actually, a bit too cold to sit out for long on our deck...
Maybe you'll get some rain soon...hugs, Julierose
Your pink/blue quilt is charming and the woven look of the new quilt is mesmerizing. Applause!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
The pink and blue top is so pretty. The interweave center part is so interesting. It will be fun to see how it develops.
