I was in the basement doing laundry so I looked for binding fabric for the pink baby quilt. I had 3 that would work but this one will look like a stripe so it was the winner. I got the strips cut but not sewn together yet.
I baked a rhubarb cake to send to my Iowa family and share with the friend who gave me the rhubarb. Of course I saved some for myself, a little for everyone.
I didn't mow the backyard when I did the front on the 17th so I took care of that yesterday. Now I have to decide if I'm going to mow the front again. We haven't had any rain since last Friday (.15") and none predicted for this week. Both of my neighbors mowed yesterday so I probably should do it today while it is still cool.
I love that fabric you chose for the binding--it will be so perfect:)))
ReplyDelete44 here this morning--at least yesterday's blustery winds have died done..
Have fun binding...I always feel binding is so satisfying
hugs, Julierose
Rhubarb cake sounds delicious! I have some rhubarb in the refrigerator and want to make a dessert this weekend. -Roxanne
ReplyDeleteI actually found fresh rhubarb at Wal-Mart yesterday when I went so I have some to make something with. I'm not sure what I am making - I have a rhubarb pie recipe that I love and that might be it. Last year they carried Rhubarb for about a month and I bought some and had several bags in the freezer so I was keeping my eye out for it for over a month now. My second year rhubarb is still not doing well and I wonder if it will ever be a good plant.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric selected to make the binding.
The not-quite-a-stripe will be just right for your new quilt. It was too chilly to mow yesterday (that was my excuse) and I must do so today. I heard on the news that we are now in a drought. Hope it doesn't last!
ReplyDeleteI really like the fabric you chose for binding!
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice of binding fabric!
ReplyDeleteYou're wise to mow when it's cool and that's for sure.
Hugs!
That will make such cute binding! When I got home from work I walked out back to dispose of another chipmunk and noticed the backyard needs mowed again. We haven’t had any rain for a couple weeks but that hasn’t slowed down the grass from growing!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see the finish of your pink baby quilt. Your days keep me trying keep up with you, not quilting but getting things done that need to be. (*._.*)

Awesome fabric for the binding! It will be beautiful. My rhubarb is coming on strong, and I’ve been making strawberry rhubarb compote like crazy. I freeze it to last all winter. Last year it only lasted until Thanksgiving, so I’m making more this year, just like my grandmother used to.
