Quilted and trimmed............

Yesterday was set aside to quilt this cool color quilt.  I used the same variegated thread I used on the last quilt and also the same Warm and Plush batting.

I decided a meander was good for this quilt.  The thread blended well with the border fabric and most of the darker fabrics in the quilt.

After trimming and seeing the backing fabric next to the border fabric, I decided the border fabric would be good for the binding.  I'll cut that today and I think I will hand finish it because the Kaffe fabrics are so easy to push a needle through.  Batik bindings are another story, some easy, some tough.

  3. I really, really like this one. And that backing is absolutely perfect! Enjoy the hand binding (I agree with how easy it is to needle).

  4. that is a pretty color scheme in that quilt. Yes some fabrics are far easier to get a needle through that others.

  8. Curious if and when you match the fabrics on your backings. Does it depend on the print/design? or do you add strips so you don't have to have a perfect match.

I love the photo of this quilt on the machine. It's so fun to see the detail in each print.
