It was a dark and gloomy day...........

It rained all day yesterday and we only had a little ice around noon and then it warmed a couple degrees and only rain after that.  It was so gloomy the only thing to do was turn on my bright lights in the basement and do some cutting.  I cut this rectangular shape and squares out of light fabrics.

Then I cut more triangles in both dark and light.  I need 16 triangle squares per block so that is 320.

Then I laid out the pieces for one block to make sure I was on the right track.  I have enough cut now to sew for at least 2 TV watching evenings.

I put these pieces in a project box.  Now I need to find a tray that will fit in there and put all of the triangle pieces in it.  I need to cut more of the rectangles but I think I have enough squares of both light and dark cut for 20 blocks.  These blocks are 14".

  1. You got a lot of cutting out done! It was a gloomy day. It poured here and we never got any snow or ice. Looks like it is going to be partly cloudy today and the high will be 65. It will be too wet to work in the yard after work and besides that the wind is suppose to be blowing hard this afternoon. I think I can find something in the studio to do.

  2. Well, for a gloomy day you did a lot of colorful stuff. It was gloomy here yesterday and now today. Freezing rain overnight. Hope to get some sewing done today, change up the design wall and get a quilt on the longarm after making some backing.

  3. It's been so gloomy here, too--today a misty rain and only 35 degrees out there. We did food shopping this morning and are wiped out again--but on the whole starting to come out of the Covid brain fog...
Good that you have all those pieces all cut out for future sewing....

  6. What a lovely block you produced on a gloomy day. Another Bear Paw springing to life, with fabrics like only you have in your stash.

  8. Those look fantastic together. That’s the best way to deal with gloomy days. We are having those again too. I’m so ready for summer.
