On the design wall: I decided I could sew each of the stars separately and just wait to press the final seams when I know the final arrangement. The two designed stars will probably get sewn today and then I'll design the last one. I'm loving the secondary pattern with this one.
The red Weigela is in full bloom now. I see I have a maple tree growing up the middle of it so I'll go out with the big clippers and cut that down.
The white peonies remind me of a swan. I have at least one more white one to bloom yet.
I love that secondary pattern too. Fantastic peonies! And Weigela!
ReplyDeleteYour white peonies are absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to make each star then join them. That is going to be such a beautiful quilt! I hope the maple tree is thin enough you can get it with the clippers. I kind of looks like you are going to have to crawl under the Weigela to get at the maple or will you be able to work your way between the Weigela branches?
ReplyDeleteThat 2nd-dary pattern is a lovely one...great project hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! This is such a lovely time of year.
ReplyDeleteAnd the stars are coming along spectacularly, or maybe I should say stellarly... looking forward to seeing what you do with it next!
I think I've asked you this before, but can't remember your answer. Do you press all the HST to the dark side and not worry about nesting the seams when they are sewn together? I love this star design, but trying to make the seams nest always drives me bonkers and I don't like pressing seams open.

The stars are amazing- all the colors and the secondary pattern. Every HST there has a purpose.
