For a couple months I have been sewing triangle squares for a friendship star quilt. On the last one I made I used the same fabric for all of the center squares of the blocks.
I looked through the box that has a lot of the 1990s and very early 2000s fabric in it and chose this one for the center squares in these blocks. It is a fabric that I have never been able to figure out how to use so it will just get chopped into 4.5" squares.
YEAH !!
ReplyDeleteit is a strange unique piece isn't it - I have a few pieces like that in the boxes that are pretty but haven't been able to figure out what to use them for
ReplyDeleteGood idea--I am always amazed how different a fabric looks when chopped up...

That fabric will look good as centers for the blocks.
ReplyDeleteLove all this color! This quilt will be so interesting to look at....keeping the eyes moving to take in all the fabric combinations. . I, too, have fabric I just haven’t figured out how to use yet. This will be a good way to use it. Love the simplicity of the Friendship Star block and that it creates secondary patterns without addition of any other pieces.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, when a unique fabric gets chopped up, it has more possibilites.
ReplyDeleteYour other friendship is so pretty; I think this one with that neat central square will also look great.
ReplyDeleteDid you as yourself "what was I thinking"? You somehow manage to bring it all together anyway.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing where this one goes.
