I made 6 new blocks and then took all of the blocks off the design wall and put them back up loosely grouped by color. I don't see the grid over the top as strong as my first layout but I like this one. With the attention span of a kindegartener I'm ready to charge off in a different direction. I need to do a cleanup again on the tables in the basement so that will give me a little break. The blocks are 8" finished so this would only be 40" x 48" as it is now.
The snow is melting fast but half of the backyard still has about a 4" covering. The north side of the house is always the last to melt. I have had very few birds to my feeders all winter but they are back now. I will need to put on my boots and go fill the feeders today.
Those blocks are so pretty and you got them made fast! It is nice to still have that amaryllis blooming. We had light snow flurries yesterday, but not enough for any accumulation. Most of the snow around here is gone unless it is piled up and in the shade.
ReplyDeleteThe color gradient is really evident in the thumbnail photo. I really like this block. Did you cut with a die?
ReplyDeleteThe incipient quilt has such a rich feel, thanks to the depth of those batiks. It's coming together beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really appreciate your phrasing "the attention span of a kindergartner" — describes my state of mind these days!
I love the colors in the quilt. The blossoms are so rich!
ReplyDeleteI like both layouts. Maybe you can make two! I'm so glad Accuquilt came through for you.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful any which way;)))
ReplyDeletePretty color in your amaryllis..the dark centers are so lovely...

It's so fun to see this with more blocks. It completely changes the feel of the blocks, and I love seeing the secondary patterns emerge. It's lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteHattie's Choice 👌 Love this one more and more. And your waxed amaryllis had me so enthralled. That bulb really put on a grand show.
ReplyDelete61 degrees here in the mountains as I write this... But is to cool down to the 40's next week.

Those blocks are really wonderful. It sounds like most of your snow will melt with the upcoming temperatures.
ReplyDeleteThose are some wonderful blocks. This will be yet another great quilt.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI hope we get to watch you play more with these blocks, I am loving them :-)
