Trip Around the World progress........

During the days this week I have been working on cutting colorwash kits and at night I sew.  I have the left half of the TAW sewn now and after I took this photo I brought the next 5 rows upstairs to sew.  I need to do some unpicking today.

I had fun reading all of the comments yesterday about my fun find and it reminded me I have a lot more larger pieces done too in another place in my studio.  I think I need to get all of them out and photograph them too and then show the 2 photos in the same post.

More snow predicted today.  We only got about an inch and a half Thursday night into Friday morning because we were on the southern edge of the storm again.  Today's storm looks like it might hit us more directly and has a 2.5" prediction.

  1. I am always amazed that your "eye" can decide how to better what I see as fine-- into something amazing on these quilts...

Our prediction for tomorrow is 7"+ of snowfall...we shall see...

  2. I was going to comment on yesterdays post but I thought you may be inundated with replies. I love the scrappy strips you found yesterday so looking forward to seeing what you turn them into. Your TAW is coming along nicely - It looks like the sun is bursting out of the middle to bring some warmth on this dark, dank miserable rainy day! We are predicted for some snow next week so did a big shop yesterday. No need to go outside for a week so will enjoy staying indoors and crafting as usual - the same I've done for the past year haha. Have a great sewing weekend :)

  3. I've been quietly following along, have always loved the TAW. One of the ladies in our quilting group does them with 4.5 inch strips. Is there a particular pattern you like more than others, and/or a favorite block size? This looks like rays of sunshine. Thank you for all you share online. Helps brighten a dreary day. :)

  4. Good progress on you TAW ~ plus cutting yards of fabric for your color wash kits. That's a good day I'd say.

  5. We got about 8" of Lake Effect snow today and it is cold. I was stuck doing an all day online course on defensive driving to lower my car insurance. The colors in the quilt are heartening.

  6. You are making good progress on the TAW quilt top. It is vibrant and so fun! I can't wait to see what other goodies you uncover and post. No snow forecasted for here until Tuesday, but the temperatures next weekend are going to be dropping to the teens during the day and down to into the single digits and below! Yikes that is cold!
