I got the final blocks sewn and now I'll look at the layout for a couple days before I sew it together. I wanted to move a couple blocks but the only place I could put them was next to the same fabric in another block. I might still make some new blocks for the areas I'm not as happy with. It's mostly in the area where the green and orange meet. I'm thinking about taking out one of the orange and green blocks.
I get a preview by email of my mail for the day. This one showed up last Thursday online but wasn't in my mailbox. It didn't come Friday or Saturday and then Monday was a holiday. I finally got it yesterday. A friend in Colorado wanted me to see the hand stamped postmarks from Loveland especially for Valentine's Day. Click to enlarge the photo so you can see it better because it is pretty special.
This was the view out the front door yesterday. It had drifted after a new 3-4" snowfall.
After I shoveled the sidewalk I would estimate the snow along both sides of the sidewalk is about 20" tall. I have a pipe at my backyard lot line that is about 14" tall and I haven't been able to see it since the last 2 storms. A small amount of snow is expected this afternoon.
The block bottom right looks a bit muddy to me but I'm liking your progress. What a lovely name for a place to live in *Loveland* - I'm now wondering who chose that name many years ago & the stamp is special too! Although the snow looks nice I don't like to think of all the havoc it creates on the roads! Happy shovelling :)
ReplyDeleteIf the sun comes out, I will photo my yard. I don't have quite as much snow as you do, but it looks as swooped as yours. I love the quilt- it looks perfect to me, but it is your quilt.
ReplyDeletewe have a town in Arkansas called Romance and another Rose Bud - people try to get things stamped from those places although I never have. You have a bit of snow
ReplyDeleteMust be there are accommodating post office people in Loveland as our mail no longer is postmarked locally. It all goes to the regional distribution center in Rochester. Even if we mail to a local address, it still goes to Rochester and then back to Avon.
ReplyDeleteI see the area that bothers you in the Crossed Canoes, but wouldn't know how to fix it. I'm sure you'll find a solution.

Beautiful quilt, beautiful card, and a beautiful mess to clean up with all that snow, Wanda!! I hope you remember to pace yourself when you are out shoving.
ReplyDeleteWOW--that is a whole lot of snow to move, Wanda--hope you took your time and rested...we only have about 2" on the ground and it's in splotchy bits after the RAIN!! Yes yesterday it got up to 59 degrees--crazee!! And now we are below freezing once again and due for a weather maker tomorrow thru Friday...
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks beautiful; I personally like how it goes in and out of focus with the color settings you've used...
Hugs, Julierose
I'm loving this quilt Wanda!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of snow! It looks so cold. I hope you don't shovel that entire driveway by yourself!

Crossed canoes ~ Wether this is your last layout or not, it looks lovely to me.
ReplyDeleteCard ~ I agree, that's a very special Valentine, and especially from and stamped from Loveland, Co.
Snow ~ 😳 Just too much !

Stunning as always! And a very cheerful quilt to overcome these bad winter storms!
ReplyDeleteIt is still snowing here - more snow than we've seen in the 30-plus years we've been in TN. By Sunday we'll be into the 40s with rain - ugh. The snow is so much prettier than melted slush and mud.
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is a lot of snow! Bad news for me. I might have to stay an extra day at the beach because of a new storm at home. That would be awful! :D
