TV sewing.............

There were 3 new season premiers shows on last night so I needed some no brainer sewing so I could pay attention to the stories.  I have a box packed with 2.5" Kaffe fabric strips so I grabbed a pile of them and brought them up to my studio.  Each of these stratas  will make two 16 patch blocks.  This is about a third of what I will need for a quilt.

I saw 5 crows in my back garden so I grabbed my camera.  Four were spooked and flew away and the last one is in the shadow so it hardly shows up.  You can see that our grass stays partially green for almost half of the winter but most everything else is brown.

I had my first tele-visit with a doctor yesterday.  It lasted 5 minutes so I wonder how much that will cost.

  1. Your stratas are so beautiful!
The tele-visit I had in the spring cost the same. It also seemed short but we covered everything and he was thorough—just no physical exam.

  2. Oh, lovely! You have reminded me of the 16 patch blocks. I must make a few more of those. I love them. My doctor called me last week. The appointment lasted one hour and five minutes. Glad my insurance covers that.

  4. We are not fans of the tele-visits; but you do what you have to these days...
I sew to my Pandora radio Jazz music...no tv.
Those are pretty strata...I have a KF Jelly Roll quilt top I made that is way too bright for me..I don't know what to do with it..maybe cut it up?

  5. I had a tele visit with a doctor back in March I think it was -it went ok, but was strange - I paid my normal co-pay and that was all. I wonder if my next appointment in February with that one will be the same - the virus is worse now here so who knows.

  6. Lots of crows in our neighborhood, too. I got a notice from my doctor that my annual wellness check is overdue. On my to-do list for next week, I guess. Curious what shows you're keeping up with. PBS is fundraising all month so we are grateful for Acorn and BritBox (as well as Netflix).

  7. I love your stratas........... spell check doesn't like that word :-). Here, I have no crows but huge amounts of ravens, which are called an unkindness of ravens..... such an odd collective noun. They are gigantic.... I'd guess 6-8 pounds each! I think they mate for life, but am not sure. Interesting creatures! My sewing sadness is that yesterday I neglected to "measure twice, cut once" and basically ruined what was supposed to have been a tablecloth!!!

  8. Well at least that dr talked you for 5 minutes--the dr I seen for my heart--first time visit too--in person--he was in the exam room maybe 3 minutes--or less!!!!
One time many years ago--my Dad asked his dr one simple question in the hall way and the Dr charged him for a full office visit!!! (and he didn't really answer my Dad's question!!)
    have a great week end--
    luv and hugs, di

  10. Those are going to make some beautiful 16 patch blocks! We had a little snow and grapple today, but not enough for it to stick. My grass is still green too. Yesterday I saw a red tail hawk fly by. We have several in the area and they are so fun to watch circling the sky looking for a meal.

  11. Your strata display is a sneak preview of another fun '16 patch' in the making .

Sadly it's a sign of the times to have virtual Dr. appointments.

  12. OOh! I have a bunch of KFC 2.5 inch WOF strips that I've cut from scraps. I keep thinking I should make a 16 patch quilt, but I can't talk myself into it. Not sure my precision on strip sets is where it needs to be yet! But I'm getting better!

I can't wait to see where this one goes. Maybe you'll convince me to get moving on one!
