7 more blocks............

I got in a few sessions of sewing yesterday and finished 7 more of the batik pineapple blocks.

I took them downstairs to the design wall where the original 10 blocks were.  They are about 14" across on the diagonal so this would be 42" wide and 56" long.  It would be another recliner chair size quilt or even a baby quilt, an elegant baby quilt.

I need to make one more block.  I have one dark block that I might try in it to see if it looks like the black sheep of the quilt.

The bouquet of little carnations is the leftovers from one of my birthday bouquets and are on their last day.  The little cactus in a cup is the same one I show every year, still not potted and blooming again.  It has 2 more buds too.

  1. Those colors are wonderful. I love this die too. Makes me want to get it out and use up some scraps.

  3. love the tiny Christmas Cactus and to see if bloom while not potted in soil but water. The pineapple quilt is very colorful - I kind of wish after the fact that I had made my pineapple quilt scrappy colors instead of two tone blue/cream

  4. WOW 7 pineapples in one day--you were really cooking, Wanda!! they take quite a while just to make one--at least for me...I don't have a specific die only a ruler...so I usually cut as I go--nice work--this will be such a gorgeous little quilt..

  6. Those pineapple blocks are gorgeous! I bought a ruler for making these blocks a few years ago. made two blocks and then never dived in again. I can't imagine making them and not squaring them up every row. I'm not at that skill level yet.

    Very nice Wanda!

  9. The pineapple blocks look great! I love all the different colors.

Those flowers have lasted a long time. I still have not bought myself a Christmas Cactus.

  10. Wanda, you should be able to strike a cutting from your carnations and grow a plant, I did that years ago. it would be great to have one that beautiful colour in your garden, and if I didn't mention it before, a Very Happy Birthday

  11. The colors are just beautiful in these blocks. I know I would have to buy a die to do these and not sure how hard they are to sew. Lovely carnations, love how long they last.
