Many rows later..............

I think I said this quilt will be 72" x 90" so the seams are long.  I finished sewing the 14 seams in one direction and sewed one in the other direction before I gave up last night.  Of course I want to finish it this month so I have 10 more 90" seams to sew today.

My son stopped by yesterday and got my computer with the dead screen hooked up to my Smart TV with an HDMI cable.  My computer screen appeared so now we know the computer is fine, just the screen is bad.  I spent a couple hours transferring files to the cloud service and now I can see them on my other computer.  I hooked the HDMI cable back to the TV so I could watch it while I was sewing.  I ordered a short HDMI cable and will hook the computer up to the small TV in my guest bedroom.  Then I can take my time getting any more files I need off of it.

  3. Tech stuff is a time sucker for sure. My computer crawled to a screeching halt this week. Fortunatley, I was able to get it to a local authorized Apple dealer and they fixed it in a day- some system update that had gone awry and sucked all the memory in the computer up. Without it, the old laptop got me limping through. Good luck on all those long seams!

  4. I always try to sew my quilts in quadrants because I don't like sewing long seams like yours at the moment. Good luck with that. Glad to hear you could find the problem with the computer. Enjoy! ;^)

  5. Good morning, Wanda,
I woke up knowing I want to sew six sixty inch seams today to finish a quilt top. After reading your column I think my task is easy. Happy sewing! Glad you have a son nearby who can help with the computer issues, too. Marnie

  6. Glad you found a solution for your computer screen! Thank goodness for techie kids! I prefer to "web" my tops in columns - that way I have the shorter cross-seams left at the end - and there are fewer of them - LOL - ;))

  8. The sewing sounded fun, but the computer business is Greek to me . . . I am lost in that department without my Steve. He was my techy and I was the creative one . . . we works like a well oil machine when we worked together.
Wishing you a lovely weekend . . . God bless,
    Connie :)

  9. Thank goodness for our sons! I had to text my son last week because my iPod froze up. He helped walk me thru the fix and now it is working again.

  10. Since the colorwash quilt shades so beautifully toward dark at the edges, I would probably give it a narrow black border, just to say, "OK, I'm done now."

The plaid zigzag is delightfully crazy, yet still organized. Very cool.
