I had my last live broadcast for the current Colorwash 360 online class yesterday. I started cleaning off my cabinet so I could start assembling this plaid quilt that I showed on my design wall a few weeks ago.
As promised yesterday here is the close up of my little 12" colorwash. I think I'm going to change one of the red squares in the top row before I finish it. It is bugging me.
The colorwash is a little gem. Sometimes, when I have small pieces like this, after finishing the edges, I mount them on stretched canvas panels. I sew through the quilt in a few places by hand and tacking a button on the back of the canvas so I could remove it if necessary. Canvas comes 12 x 12. It gives the quilt some dimension and a gallery feel.
Congratulations for completing another colorwash class. I know that has to be a lot of work. I can't wait to see the plaid quilt sewn together. It will be good to have another top done. I am guessing the red square farthest to the left is the one bugging you. Otherwise, the little colorwash turned out beautiful!

ReplyDeleteCan’t imagine making a 12” colorwash……well done!!!
ReplyDeleteBet it feels good to stitch on a non-colorwash project. Congrats on another series of live sessions being completed.
