I cut 4 more blocks for one of my ongoing solids with prints quilts. It was fun to sew up these prints a friend sent to me.
We finally got some rain yesterday morning, a little over 1". The predicted rain for the evening didn't materialize by the time I went to bed. More rain expected in the next couple days so I hope we get some of it. Also a nice cool week predicted which means a nicer electric bill next month.
Such cute fabrics--love the flamingos!!
ReplyDeleteCool temps here every morning this week, but no rain in sight..
Leaves are already drying on the trees and starting to drop off...
I hope that doesn't affect our beautiful autumn leaves turning colors...
Hugs, Julierose
The crinkle chips top left are not the sort you get when buying your 'fish & chips' - that type are only available in the freezer section aisle but taste the same. Glad you got some rain at last - we've had more the past 2 days but not heavy; just enough to keep the plants happy :)
ReplyDeleteI confess the pickle fabric just isn't working for me. It's absolutely nothing to do with what you did with it, it's simply that particular green color is one that I really dislike. It will be fine in the finished quilt though, I'm sure. I recall that pink and pickle quilt you did a while back, and I was thinking "?!?!?" when I first saw the blocks, yet I do like the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteI know I've read that sometimes adding a bit of "ugly" color can add spark to a quilt. Do you have any advice on using colors that you really don't like?
I hope you get some rain out the next round!
No rain in northeasternmost Illinois! Lots of wind, though, and cooler temps. The community orchestra concert was rescheduled from last evening to this evening. (The lawn at the bandshell will be marked in a 12' x 12' grid for social distancing.) . . . That's an interesting block. Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteFun blocks. All together they will really make you smile. Got some rain this morning, but not enough.
ReplyDeleteSunday: "The other pack of 5" squares" Are just gorgeous, I dearly love blues and they are breath taking.
ReplyDeleteToday your blocks are just plain fun...
