Heading toward a finish or two.............

After finishing the quilting on the second colorwash I trimmed the first one to prepare for binding.

I cut the hanging sleeve and binding for it.  I got the binding sewn on and started the hand finishing.

Here is the backing fabric on the one I just finished quilting.

I have the third colorwash on the drafting table ready to baste.  It is going to be in the low 30s today so I'll probably be in the basement a good part of the day.  It is the warmest place in my house in the winter.  I have hot water heat and the pipes all run across the ceiling as they go to the baseboard heaters upstairs so the heat radiates off of them in the basement too.

I don't have a clear view of my maple tree from the kitchen.  That is a Redbud tree in front of it.  So far the leaves haven't dropped but they aren't as yellow as they have been in previous years.  They are more gold and brown because we have had a hard freeze already.  This tree and an Oak in my neighbor's yard are the only 2 trees with leaves left on them on our properties.

  4. we have had a bit of rain lately so we haven't been able to enjoy the fall colors so much the wind and rain have been knocking a lot of them down before they are ready - I hope my big tree in the front yard will keep theirs or a little bit so I can get a photo of the yellow

  5. We have more rain again today - the leaves here are dull yellows, golds, and drab green and they're starting to fall (especially when the breeze blows through). The giant oaks hold their leaves until December/early January which is so different than when we lived further north. Your color wash quilts GLOW.

  8. Enjoyed catching up with your blog tonight, from your recap month of Oct., red and grey quilt is stunning, Colorwash pieces always make me smile. You're really on a roll.

My Illinois cousins have been visiting for a few days, and this morning when I went catch up on your blog I couldn't get on the Internet. Called my server and of course talked to a fella from India and he ran a check on my modem and I'm to get a new one Friday morning. I was surprised it was on tonight.
