Fun mail..............

I was the winner in a giveaway on Instagram by Brenda.  If you don't read her blog here is a link.  She posts often and makes lots of interesting things.  This is a needle book which I have never had the pleasure of owning before.

There are pockets front and back for needles and scissors.  I'm always misplacing the package of needles so they are safe here now.  There are 4 pages inside for needles and pins.

I hate it when my needles get buried down inside of a pincushion so now I have a place for them and I'll always know where they are.

The other package was from my friend Beth who lived in Africa for awhile and got this zebra fabric and porcupine quill while she was there. The quill can be used to help steer fabric toward the needle at the machine.  I'm so happy she shared them with me.
Look who was wandering through the back yard again.  I hadn't seen a 'possum in my yard for several years and now it has been here twice in a week.

  1. I think I have a needle book somewhere but I have never really used it. It would certainly be better than having the needles in the pincushion.
You had a great mail day.

  2. You certainly have gotten fun things in the mail. The needlebook is so pretty as well as useful and the zebra fabric is so pretty! I can see it as a center of a medallion quilt.

  4. Brenda's needle book is a great gift for anyone that sews. I did go to her blog and enjoyed the visit, she is one creative lady.

Your zebra fabric is so pretty and the quil so unique. I have used an awl forever just for that purpose, but the quil adds that creative ambiance . (^._.^)

  5. How wonderful, what treats! I have on my list to make a few needle keepers for friends!

The possum! They’re fabulous to have around, such gentle creatures, and they eat a lot mosquitoes and other pesky summer bugs we wish would disappear in the summer!

  7. Love the fabric...needs to be spotlighted somewhere. LOVE the needle book too...went to her blog, thought she might give dimensions and if batting is inside cover.

  8. Congratulations on your win! Brenda is always making creative and useful items! Speaking of Brenda, do you remember the tea towel quilt I made a few years ago and that someone had sent me a duplicate of the exact same towel I planned on using in my quilt? That towel was from Brenda!
That zebra fabric is so pretty and so you! I never knew you could use a porcupine quill for fabric steering. Looking at it I would not want to get poked with that!

  9. That porcupine quill is so awesome! I use a stiletto all of the time. Is the quill hard or pliable?
