A Recent 'Live' Q & A Session |
Thanksgiving was filled with lots of family fun, but the season of thanks wouldn’t be complete without sharing what we’ve been up to the past couple months behind the scenes.
The first session of Colorwash 360 launched on October 1 and we spent the next 40 days walking together through the course material with students from across the world.
Each week we had Live Q & A sessions from my studio. I never thought I'd be on live video, but I discovered it was really lots of fun.
But probably my favorite part of all was seeing what my students were accomplishing in their own home studios. Many students shared their progress with me and a few were kind enough to allow their projects on the blog today.
Students worked in a variety of fabrics. These first student artworks were made in all Batik fabrics.

Another favorite fabric selection for Colorwash was Kaffe Fassett prints sometimes pure Kaffe, other times Kaffe Collective and other prints.

Many more amazing works were made and are in the finishing stages now. Perhaps we'll show more student works later, if you'd like to see more. I'm so proud of all of them and hope you'll cheer them on as well!

My quilt on your blog? Had to pinch myself this morning. Thank you for taking all your expertise and packaging it in your course! It was so much fun and I learned so much!
ReplyDeleteFabulous show of works! Pure fun and self expression. Great job students and Wanda:)
ReplyDeleteAs one of your students, I am most thankful that you provided us the opportunity to participate in this class.
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like the class was a complete success! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful quilts and YES, I'd like to view more students work. Great job to everyone!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts echo Linda's regarding seeing my quilt on your blog, Wanda. For those thinking about signing up for the spring class, I found the course to be excellent. Written material was comprehensive, the videos demonstrating different steps were excellent and the online discussion sessions helpful and fun. I look forward to creating more colorwash quilts. The process can become addictive!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Wanda, on this very snowy morning....Thanks to you and your class participants for allowing their beautiful quilts to be viewed online. It just shows, what having an expert teacher, can inspire one to accomplish. I would love to see more class quilts in the future, because although they are all colorwash, they are all different, depending on the fabrics used. Hope you are able to stay in today.
ReplyDeleteLove all the color wash quilts. Wish I could have done a class but just not possible at this time. You are a good teacher though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering this class online - I've wanted to learn color wash from you but the distance kept it from happening. EXCELLENT format with loads of good information in the handouts and the videos. The live sessions added so much to the mix. While mine is shown here pinned to the design wall (to prevent accidents until I could get it safely clipped for sewing), I hope to get it sewn together next week and quilted shortly thereafter. You are a GREAT teacher!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great class and I’m honored to have my quilt on your blog. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeletewonderful Wanda...be so proud!!!1
ReplyDeleteThank you Wanda, for sharing your students Colorwash creations. Each one has its own personality. And yes show more and more soon as they finish. Sharing your YEARS of creating Colorwash..... You hold no secrets back, your personal technique is such a grand part of teaching.

P.S. Love the way Pat Graham quilted hers !
ReplyDeleteWell done, everyone. It certainly shows what an excellent teacher yoou are, Wanda. Bravo.

Thank you for sharing all these beautiful Colorwash quilts. I love how Pat Graham has quilted hers. I am not ashamed to say that I am tempted to steal that idea. The flimsy has been completed for a while. The fear that I will mess it up with quilting has prevented me from finishing it. Thanks to you, Pat, my version will be completed this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou're a great teacher Wanda. I can tell because all of these quilts are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just have to say this quilt is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen!!! I'm drooling over it & have to make one asap!!! Thank you so much for sharing such a beauty with the rest of us. God bless
