After mowing the grass in the nice cool air yesterday I finally got to the sewing machine.
I needed four of each of these two units.
The block is sewn! The darkest purple really is purple and not a black background like it looks here. I'm really happy with this block. I'm making 15" blocks like I did in the quilt I showed yesterday. I thought about 12" but decided the fabric prints would have more impact with larger pieces.
A few Rose of Sharon bushes are still blooming. I'm going to cut down a lot of them before brush pickup on Oct. 1. They are prolific and invasive and I must have over 30 of them on the south side of my house and they are about 8' tall.
A very pretty block. I love the mix of colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat block! It is cool here but raining so no yardwork for another day or two (maybe three deoending on whose forecast you read).
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a beautiful quilt, with all those colorful fabrics. Kind of nippy this morning when I got up and saw it was 44 degrees!
ReplyDeleteI love this block. I’m looking forward to cutting down my garden, it’s looking a little worn.
ReplyDeletebeautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteThis block is magical, the marbled aqua points look translucent on my screen. As always your fabrics are "exuberant" and with your designing talent, they glow.

My new Rose of Sharon plan is to cut off as many of the seed heads as
ReplyDeletei can reach - that should cut down on seedlings and I don't THINK any bird eats them?
Love the new squares.
