I finished the first colorburst wallhanging and got the binding started on the second one.
I used a fabric on the back that is from the first years that the Hoffman Co. was making batiks. It is in the front of the quilt too. This one is on the way to its new owner.
I'm the new owner and I fell in love with this piece the first time I saw it. Wanda prefers it rotated to the side, but in this orientation I see a vase of poppies.
This one certainly lives up to its name and then some. It is another absolutely stunning design Wanda. Was fun to read that the owner can see a vase of poppies. I saw the heart first. (*._.*)
This piece turned out so beautiful and a bit different than your usual colorwashed pieces. I am sure it will make the new owner smile every time they pass it.
Beautiful! The colorburst style is very expressive. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty powerful burst of color. Looks very fresh.
ReplyDeleteToday's quilt is beautiful. (I find all of your work beautiful!) Is it made entirely of batiks or have you mixed in other prints?
ReplyDeleteThank you for a reply,

ReplyDeleteLove the back too.
Thank you so much Wanda!!!
It's awesome. Very attractive.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours - I thought I could see a map of Africa with the Atlantic to the left. I love how the mind picks out different images :)
ReplyDeleteSome of those early Hoffman batiks are so cool. Love your colorburst piece.
ReplyDeleteThese truly are exuberant!
ReplyDeleteI see a heart in this top. So pretty.
