I meant to take photos of the newest blooms during full daylight but forgot. It was such a dreary day so I had lights on earlier than usual. Even though this doesn't look like a white flower, it is. I see 2 more buds on it too.
I don't remember if this is the second or third blooming of the champagne color cactus. I have 2 plants of this color so it is harder to keep track. There are 3 more buds on this one.
My company arrived safely and the snow didn't start as early in the day as they originally predicted. I think the storm shifted a little farther to the north but it did start snowing around 8 p.m.
Very pretty color, mine are a fuchsia one and another with red blooms. I love those plants!
ReplyDeleteLucky you with blooms now. Too bad you’re getting snow again. I did hear that Mother Nature is bipolar and is off her meds. And I believe it.
ReplyDeleteGlad your company arrived safely and the snow was less - my daughter said they had enough that son in law needed to get the snow blower out! April 18th I don't remember from my years in WI ever having so much snow that late in April - snow flurries yes but not where you needed to clear the drive way and sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteThe champagne color is such a pretty one for the cactus. Hope the snow does not last long.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cactus—I grow them too, but I have never seen this color. Lovely...
ReplyDeleteI think we are finally done with the snowy/sleety stuff and maybe even the nights below 32 degrees. Close, but not quite -- but at least we are beginning to plant the hardier plants in the yard now. Hoping your spring hurries and arrives SOON!!!
ReplyDeleteYour cactus always photograph so beautifully. I am so jealous... the plant I bought still does not show any growing progress. It does look alive, but does show any new growth and I bought it in Nov. or Dec. Am I expecting too much after 5 months ?

Your cactus have done you proud this year and a great photo opportunity for you. We had a very hot day today - 27c and the hottest day in Hull for 70 years. Too hot for me, especially when at the beginning of the week I was still wearing thermals! Hope you see some sunshine soon :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm glad you titled this post 'Blooming again' instead of 'Snowing again'. We had a light dusting of snow overnight but it's gone now. Partly sunny, but still quite cold. My daffs are showing color. Maybe if we really get to 60° this time, they will burst into bloom.
ReplyDeleteI have several different colors of Thanksgiving and Christmas cacti, but none like your champagne one. I don't think I've ever seen one for sale around here. Must remember to look next fall. I also have an Easter cactus, but it has shown no sign of buds as yet.
