I finished sewing this top yesterday afternoon. It measures 58" x 82". I chose and cut the bright colors last Friday and Saturday and it was sewn by Wednesday. The black and whites were chosen last year in October, cut on Feb. 2 this year. The white background batik is one of Hoffman's early batiks from the mid 1990s.
The top 2 batiks are Bali by Princess Mirah and I think the zebras are a Hoffman but I'm not sure.
The top two in this photo are also Bali brand and the bottom is a more recent Hoffman.
The top one here is Bali, the second one Hoffman, the third one Bali and the bottom one Hoffman. All of the Bali brand batiks are around 20 years old. It's about time that I used them however I still have pieces left of most of them.
These are my favorite 3 black and white batiks. People who know me well would know the zebras are a favorite.
It's beautiful Wanda and I marvel at the speed in which you were able to complete the top of this quilt.

ReplyDeleteI really like this top, the animals are great.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned earlier about this pattern.... You will take it and make it your own and you certainly did. It is one stunning quilt top, anxious now to see the stitching pattern you will use to quilt it.
