After I finished all of the chores of the day I sliced the 16 patch stratas that I had sewn the night before. There are 2 blocks from each strata.
I sewed one of each of the blocks. The contrast is a little higher than I thought it was going to be. I'm not sure I like the one with the gold check in the top row but I'll wait until I have the other 9 stratas sewn and blocks made before I make a decision to take anything out.
Beautiful neutrals! Yes, that gold one does stick out a bit now, but it could be the spark the quilt needs when all the blocks are done. I will look forward to seeing if it makes the cut or not. LOL!!
I was unsure if you meant you didn't care for the block itself, or whether you weren't happy with its placement. Whichever, I agree with the "wait and see" approach...

ReplyDeleteThe gold check does "jump out" compared to all the others.
ReplyDeleteSmart to wait and see. You are off to a good start!
ReplyDeleteLove the textures of all these batiks and wonder if the gold will not be as obvious when there are more of them. Patty
