December 2017 recap......and Happy New Year!!.........

I had a very good finishing month in December (7 quilts!) after 3 months of restricted arm movement after my pacemaker surgery.  One quilt (the half hexagon 57.5" x 80") was started and finished in December, one had been partially quilted for almost a year waiting to be finished.  One had been hand basted right before my surgery waiting to be ditch quilted.  I met my goal of finishing 26 quilts in 2017 by working hard all of last month and I'm overjoyed with the results.

I also completed two quilt tops that will wait their turns for finishing.

A Christmas table runner was made and I knitted about a dozen dishcloths.  I worked hard on the red crazy pieced blocks but could see I wouldn't get that top finished by the end of the year.

Happy New Year to all of my precious and much appreciated readers.  You are my cheering squad, my encouragers and the best audience I could ask for.  I appreciate every comment even though I can't respond to the no reply commenters (and that is about a third of you!).  Here's hoping the new year will be a healthy one for all of us.

  4. Wishing you a happy healthy 2018 with continuing creativity. Thank you for so much inspiration throughout a year that was so hard for us here and I know it was for you too. Apologies that I have not made many comments but I have gained so much respite by just popping in and out of your blog.
On 26th Dec 2017 I started a large, long promised, quilt (at last) for my daughter and it has relaxed me and given me a real boost for 2018. Before that I could only cope with small items.

  25. TWENTY SIX QUILTS completed for 2017 ! (*._.*). What a year to remember ! Reaching your goal even with the set back you had with your pacemaker surgery absolutely amazes me. You get my vote for quilt designer of the year.

Looking forward to another year of your trademark "exuberant colorful exciting" quilts.

  27. Indeed you had a marvelously productive December. I think not being able to use your arm made you more hungry for finishes when it healed.

  28. Congratulations! That was an amazing finish! It was really impressive that you were able to reach your goal despite your considerable down time earlier this year, I can barely believe you even tried! Much less succeeded! Good for you! December was so impressive. And such beautiful quilts, to boot! I’m not even going to try to pick a favorite because I have several! Now I cannot wait to see what you’ll be up to this year! Hope it will be a successful and productive one for you, without any medical setbacks or surprises!
