More blocks..........

I sewed some blocks with the graphic squares print and I think I like them in there.  I need to make more of them though so they can be evenly distributed.

Out in the garden: a Hosta getting ready to bloom in front of the Annabelle Hydrangea which is huge this year.

This Hosta with the small green leaves has the most showy flowers.  I have about 5 of these and 3 are in bloom right now.

The Rose of Sharon bushes are starting to bloom.  I have three different colors of them.  They are coming up everywhere.

These are on my way to the tomato garden so I pass them a couple times a day.

I am reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and am almost done with it.  I think I read for 4 hours yesterday but it was too hot to be outside anyway.  It is hard to put a book down when you are getting near the conclusion of the mystery.

  1. Wow, what great fabric choices for your Drunkard's Path! I made one years ago and I love it! Very fun block.

  2. Now that I have wiped up the drool from looking at your quilt in progress....you will really enjoy the Dragon Tattoo series. And the author tagged to pick up where he left off has done a great job.

  3. I have a Rose of Sharon plant that was planted last year from a rooted cutting from my sister in law the plant is still quite small I wonder how old it is when it gets flowers on them. Rained all night doubt I will be outside much today supposed to get hot again.

  4. I love your combination of gardening and quilting. Two healthy hobbies. I own a garden center and it concerns me that we are seeing fewer and fewer young people. Sewing and gardening are two valuable life skills!

  6. I really like the addition of the graphic block squares. I think they work so well as the size of the squares is about the size of 1/4th of the smaller DP blocks. The principle of repetition with variation.

  8. Love all your flowers, my rose of Sharon is very full this year too. Be sure and read all of the book series , it's a set of 3 I will never get rid of. I never read the 4th one, it got bad reviews in our paper, guess I will have to try it though. Your quilt top is very pretty , but I'm not sure I like what you like about those graphic squares. Time will tell. I always know you will make it great.

  11. Love all this fabric, especially the white/dark fabric scattered around. Wish I had your vision when starting a project. Your design wall is just like your garden, beautiful things reveal themselves as they develop & grow!!!
